Attempts have been made to remake Simbro, but they have all failed or are in development limbo. Hell or high water, I'm here to complete the remake. The Simbro ResErection remake is backed by me (a programmer since 2006) and a talented artist. Honestly, I'm doing this to make money. While others aren't willing to do the hard work, I am.
The development process has already begun, and it is going well. As part of our "updating" process, we're giving the art assets a more modern look. What's the point of using old art? That's what I hear you asking. Playshapes art conflicts with the main reason. I understand that the artist no longer wants their art to be used for whatever reason. It is important to respect that.
State of the Game
We are excited to announce that our first public/demo build is now available! Our team has worked hard to get to where we are today, but the game is far from being finished. The base systems are complete, but we still need to add a lot of content. As of right now, we don't have any missions or stories. A lot of things still need to be added, including the shop, the bar, and a lot of other things. While the game has bugs and crashes, it also shows the dedication we have for this revival.
More detailed information on features and other things is available on my Patreon and Subscribe Star pages. The remake posts are public (no need to subscribe) and give more insight. In case you were wondering, all money made through patron goes back into the game. Until the demo is released, I will not make any money from this game. The only time I'll take a cut is when the game becomes self-sustaining. Artists, composers, writers, and voice actors should be paid first.
