The National Population Data Center - Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam developed the VNeID application based on population data, identification, and electronic authentication.
People living and traveling in Vietnam are eligible for the VNeID application.
VNeID solution helps citizens to replace traditional papers, identify themselves in digital environments, provide utilities for developing digital citizenship, digital government, and digital society, and help citizens to declare medical reports and domestic travel declarations. The application also assists authorities in tracking secondary COVID-19 infections and informing people in time.
The User agrees to give the application access to the following functions by using the Application:
- Internet access via the device used by the user
- Scannable QR codes on CD cards can be scanned with a camera to speed up the process of entering basic information about citizens and scanning the QRcode at the scanning point.
- QRcode images can be stored on the device for inspection when passing through citizen checkpoints using photos, videos, audios and files.
- Notifications are sent to the device of the user.
Input of personal information: The user enters data, declares medical information, moves domestically, or declares on behalf of another individual with their permission. A person's personal information includes their full name, phone number, citizenship identification number, gender, year of birth, permanent address, nationality, health status, place of departure, destination, vehicle number plate, and exposure to people with COVID-19. User information is collected by filling out forms and submitting them with their permission.
The user is solely responsible for the way he or she uses and inputs information.
User data will be stored and secured by the National Population Data Center, Ministry of Public Security, and used only for the prevention and control of COVID-19, as well as helping to prevent diseases and protect health. Please do not use this information for commercial purposes, nor do you invade privacy. Various authorities may be notified of COVID-19 data for the purpose of better serving the prevention of COVID-19.
Besides the above purposes, the application developer does not collect or use user information for any other purpose. According to Vietnamese law or application policy, we will not disclose any information that could harm or violate a user's privacy.
Data collection about your location is not performed by VNeID.
A community can be joined anonymously by anyone. The competent authorities are the only ones who can determine whether a person is infected or suspects they are infected by close contact with a person with COVID-19 and conduct tracing.
