Announcing the following on June 8th, 2023 at Chandubi Amrit Plantation, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced:
- A total of 1 million seedlings will be planted across the state
- Tree planting by Self Help Group members, ASHA workers and supervisors, police, educational institutes, and Anganwadi workers
- A web portal or mobile app will be used for registration
- A grant of Rupees 100 will be given as a Direct Beneficiary Transfer once the seedling has been planted and the image uploaded.
- In the third year, Rs. 200 will be paid if the plant survives
- Financial grants require geotagged photos to be uploaded.
Beneficiary Direct Transfer
Participating participants will receive a financial grant of Rupees 100 for planting seedlings and uploading the image along with geo-location and timestamp. A second grant of 200 rupees will be awarded if the plant survives. He/she will be responsible for the maintenance of the tree as its sole owner.
Seedling Distribution
Districts and blocks will stock seedlings and ensure their safekeeping. From their respective pre-defined collection centers, participants will receive free seedlings.
